Located at the highest point of Capo Berta, at 267 m above sea level, the Torre dell'Alpicella had functions of sighting rather than defense: while along the coasts there were armed towers for the defense of the territory, on the heights with a wide view on the sea were the lantern towers, mainly intended for signaling and armed only for their own defense. Today in ruins it is however in a panoramic point with a wide view of the sea.
