Johann I von Egloffstein left the parish to the Teutonic Order, who then exercised church patronage. In place of the medieval church, the foundation stone for the hall church made of ashlar masonry was laid in 1779, which was consecrated in September 1781. It consists of a nave with sloping corners, a retracted rectangular choir in the east and a church tower built at the top of the choir, the top floor of which houses the tower clock and the belfry.
