On February 18, 1943, Hans and Sophie Scholl distributed the sixth leaflet of the White Rose in the university. When they dropped it from the gallery on the second floor to the atrium, they were arrested. At the place where the leaflets were probably dropped, a commemorative plaque created in 1946 commemorates the seven executed members of the student resistance group. A ground monument in front of the main entrance of the university shows since 1990 leaflets, portrait photos and a farewell letter from Willi Graf.
