Hiking
The ENCI quarry is a limestone quarry on the Maas side of the Sint-Pietersberg (part of the Plateau van Caestert) in the Dutch municipality of Maastricht. Opencast limestone ("marl") mining started here in 1926 with the establishment of the Eerste Nederlandse Cement Industrie (ENCI).
Limestone is an important raw material for cement production.
