An impressive city built entirely on a rock. When you look up at the city from below, you wonder what buildings people can create...

The small town of Castellfollit de la Roca stands on a spectacular basaltic cliff 50 meters high and almost a kilometer long, cut out by the river Fluvià.

The narrow streets of the town lead to the old church of Sant Salvador, at the end of the cliff, where there is a viewpoint with privileged views.

Castellfollit de la Roca is one of the gateways to the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.

The old quarter is located on a basaltic cliff formed by two superimposed lava flows. Our tour begins in the Plaza de Catalunya and goes into the streets of the old part of the town. A part of this route coincides with the ancient Annia Roman road. From the footbridge over the river Fluvià you can see the spectacular cliff with the town on it.
