The Kulmbach recreational area “Mainaue” (for insiders: Kieswäsch) is a real gem.
The bathing lake is laid out with a beautiful and well-tended lawn. There are changing rooms and showers - free of charge, of course! A few years ago trees were planted to provide shade. The lake itself has been rated as having excellent water quality in the annual tests carried out by Stiftung Warentest for years. You can drive your own small boats on the lake. On the other hand, anglers have their places. A beach volleyball court and a digging area for children have been created. An island that is also within walking distance of smaller children makes for a special attraction in the lake. The lake is separated from the spacious parking lot by trees, and a kiosk supplies food and drinks. There is a beautiful view of the Plassenburg from the lake. The local recreation area is an ideal place to unwind!
