Tips

  • The existing mill was first mentioned in 1399. In 1707 the mill, which was the ban mill for Hochdorf, was sold by Württemberg to the existing miller Johan Georg Fritz. The two grinding stages and one tanning stage are recorded in 1720; the third milling stage, which was still in use around 1650, was expanded. In 1792 the mill was rebuilt by Georg Christoph Fackler (building inscription on the west side). After the death of the last miller, Richard Schäfer, it was shut down in January 1968. Today it is privately owned and was renovated in 2011
