The Schilfbruch is a natural forest area in the Hanover region between the towns of Uetze and Hänigsen with a high proportion of alder and ash trees. The Schilfbruch is marked as NSG HA 196. The forest is very easy to see because the damp, boggy soil prevents small bushes from growing back. On both sides of the hiking and cycling trails there are always ditches filled with clear water.
To the west of the Schilfbruch is the Friedwald forest.
