The former Scheergrund watermill was first mentioned in 1550 as a grain mill and was owned by Knight Hans von Comerstat, who also owned the Tautendorf manor and sheep farm. The iron waterwheel, dating from 1849, has a diameter of 8 meters, 99 paddles, and achieved 35 revolutions per minute. Together with the Niedermühle near Krippen, it is one of the largest waterwheels of a mill in Saxony.
