In the middle of the forest you will find a reconstructed Roman watchtower, because the Limes ran here around 2,000 years ago. However, the watchtower only resembles its Roman model in appearance - the Romans built much more sophisticated buildings. The tower is open for this and from its viewing platform you have a beautiful view of the Altmühltal.

Interesting highlight on the hiking trail

Due to the direct eye contact with the fort and the entire valley from Böhming to Ilbling down the Altmühl, this tower was strategically particularly important.
