The dominant feature of the square is undoubtedly the town hall with a Renaissance tower, the perspective of which is complemented by a historical cast-iron fountain in the middle of the square and a row of burgher houses with valuable stuccos and front decorations. At the northern entrance to the square, it is impossible not to notice the extensive Fryštát Castle with an elegant appearance in the Empire style from the 18th century.

Cycling

The heart of the city is Masaryk's Square (Masarykovo náměstí), where the central place is occupied by the town hall with a Renaissance tower. The oldest monument is the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, with Baroque, Renaissance and Classicist elements inside. When the Frysztat castle was rebuilt in the Empire style, it was connected with the church by a brick corridor. This creates a romantic entrance to the great castle park.

Road cycling

The Karviná square is a quiet place with the atmosphere of a small Czech town. Here you will find a historic town hall, colorful townhouses and several cozy cafes ideal for a break during the route. It is a good place to stop during the Iron Cycling Trail trip - you can replenish your supplies, have a coffee and feel the local atmosphere. The surfaces around the square are paved, but you can easily get there by road bike.
