If you come from the Branca hut along the “Lago delle Rosolle” to the Forni glacier, you will witness a natural spectacle. Here it becomes clear what influence we as humans have on this sensitive ecosystem. In the picture where I stand was the glacier outlet in 2010. In the meantime (2021) this has melted off quite a bit. It is said that over the year you need 10m of snow to gain about 1cm of permafrost. This section was a special highlight around the trail.
