An impressive, old moated castle, which is now privately owned, but is nevertheless beautiful to look at.

The castle entrance, built around 1730, with its picturesque wrought iron grilles is framed by massive pillars crowned with pine cones. There are lion sculptures with the Dalberg and Zobel coats of arms above the side entrances. A stone bridge from 1700 leads to the castle gate, which is flanked by two life-sized sandstone tournament knights armed with lances who ride towards each other. An American soldier cut off the front legs of the magnificent horse sculptures in 1945 to widen the driveway.

The most impressive castle that dominates the town with its romantic park was built around 1593 as a moated castle in strong Renaissance forms, the Marschalke von Ostheim. Johann Philipp Fuchs von Dornheim had two wings expanded in 1700/1702 in the Renaissance style. Parts of the castle furnishings such as stucco ceilings and doors date from the early 18th century.
