The center of the Alzenau district of Kälberau is the pilgrimage church "Maria zum Rauhen Wind". The inhabitants of Alzenau and the surrounding area have been praying to the "Mother of God of the Rough Wind" in Kälberau for centuries.

The pilgrimage church, which was provided with the modern extension of the Würzburg cathedral builder Hans Skull in the fifties of the 20th century, is a true gem and a place of contemplation and contemplation. In the old Gothic part from the 15th century is the miraculous image venerated by the faithful, which gave the building its name.
The pilgrimage church also houses another treasure: the “Madonna with the grape” on the high altar of the new part of the church is an important link between the so-called soft and pointed Gothic styles.

In the valley of the Kahl, the pilgrimage church "Maria zum Rauhen Wind" awaits you in Kälberau with its two Madonnas, the "Kälberauer Elle" and the mysterious face in the wall above the entrance. In the heyday of the pilgrimage in the 18th century, Alzenau started the path »The Seven Sorrows of Mary«. 25 years ago a new route had to be found because of the expansion of the road for the pilgrimage route. Highly controversial at the time, the solution along today's cycle and hiking path, on which the wayside shrines were set up, has proven itself very well in the long term.

Looks good and blends visually well. The next time she will be examined from the inside. 😁👍🏻
