In the park you will find eight ponds. The rare pearl grass beech forest is particularly worth seeing (scientifically, this is called "Hordelymo-Fagetum", only if you want to play explainer bear or the question "Who wants to be a millionaire" comes up). This community of beech, pearl grass and other forest plants requires nutrient-rich, calcareous clay soil.

The Park of Tervuren, also called Warande, is 225 ha in size, the ring wall is 7 km long, 8 ponds follow each other around a higher part from which 8 avenues start, which were constructed by Charles of Lorraine. A number of these ponds were given names: Gorsvijver, Bijvijver, Molenvijver, Vossemvijver, Grote Vaart, Kleine Vaart. The so-called 'zevensterre' in the Warande reflects the geometric design, characteristic of the classicist style that prevailed in the 17th century. The Gordaalmolen in the Warande domain, also called Spaans huis, is a renovated whole from the 17th century. The Tervurenlaan was also constructed in 1897 by order of Leopold II, which created the connection with the Jubelpark in Brussels. This avenue was planted with several rows of chestnut trees, both in the central strip and along the outside of the separated lanes.
