    In the middle of the forest cemetery is this small reconstructed burial mound from the Celtic period, on top of which a menhir was placed.

      The oldest cemetery in the city is on the edge of today's forest cemetery. A total of around 28 burial mounds were found there. The oldest come from the Bronze Age (around 1100 BC), others were added in early Celtic times. The remains of a Neolithic settlement were also found under two hills. A stone stele (so-called menhir) has been found for one of the early Celtic hills, which probably originally crowned the hill. This mound was reconstructed and, as a monument, still allows an impressive insight into the burial customs several thousand years ago.
