Our speedometer route begins on the west side of the Rodgau-Jügesheim train station by the bicycle parking facilities, extends one kilometer south on the “Bahnpädche” and ends shortly before the underpass under the circular cross-connection (K174).

With the help of the instructions on the signs at the beginning and at the end of our 1000 meter long speedometer measuring section, you can easily and reliably check the accuracy of your speedometer and thus calibrate it.

The advantage of this measuring section: You neither have to determine nor calculate the wheel circumference, which can be very cumbersome. You can enter a wheel circumference that comes even somewhat close to the truth (for example 2050 mm for 26 inches or 2200 for 28 inches or a value from our table), after correction the speedometer provides 100% -ig1) the correct route length.

The decisive factor when setting the speedometer is the wheel circumference. The speedometer counts the wheel revolutions and multiplies them by the wheel circumference, which is entered in the speedometer. If this is too big, the speedometer will show more than 1000 meters after driving the speedometer, if it is too small, it will show less than 1000 meters.

If the distance measured by the speedometer is, for example, 1030 instead of 1000 meters, i.e. 3% too much, the wheel circumference must be reduced by 3%, if the distance measured by the speedometer is, for example, 960 instead of 1000 meters, i.e. 4% too little, the wheel circumference is 4 % to enlarge.

This can be done simply by means of a rule of three calculation, as described on the signs for the tachometer measurement route.

Enter this into your speedometer and, ideally, drive the measuring distance again to check.

      It's a nice facility.

Unfortunately, yesterday I could not find any markings on this route that looked like a tachometer route?
