"... In February 2019 the E.ON.Kraftwerk Gustav Knepper was blown up after it was shut down in 2014. The block built in the 1970s produced 345 megawatts.
The coal-fired power plant, located in the Dortmund and Castrop-Rauxeler urban areas, was named after the mine director Gustav Knepper.
A connecting line connected the power plant with the Dortmund-Nette / Oestrich train station. The track was completely electrified from the factory gate to the owner's limit. Shortly before it was closed, the power plant was started up by NIAG and RBH Logistics. In November 2014, a DGEG special trip ran on the connecting railway. ... "
