The Marcali Museum is the most important museum of cultural history in the city of Marcali and is located in the cultural center „Kulturális Korzó“. Its origins date back to the 1960s, when schoolchildren began collecting historical objects from the region. The museum was opened in 1972 and is today the only regional museum of its kind in Somogy County. The permanent exhibitions showcase archaeological finds, ethnographic objects, city history, as well as art and cultural history collections. The offer is complemented by changing special exhibitions and events that vividly convey the history and cultural heritage of the region.
