The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas (Osios Nikolaos), born in 792 in Kydonia (Chania), and not to be confused with Saint Nicholas (Αγιος Νικόλαος) of Myron. His feast day is February 4th (saint.gr/1377/saint.aspx)
