In 1976, a Roman villa was discovered here. The largest part of the building has been filled in again for conservation reasons. The small part serves to give today's viewer an impression of the spacious complex.
A special find is the statue of the Celtic god Sucellus (now in the Trier State Museum). As the hammer in his arm suggests, he is the patron saint of winemakers and coopers. A special feature is that he was depicted with grapes.

The remains of this Roman villa were excavated by the Trier State Museum in 1976. It was probably the home of a farmer or winemaker. Interestingly, a statue of the Celtic god Sucellus was found here, although unlike the usual Celts, it was depicted with grapes.
