At this point an impressive panoramic view opens up in which one of the most important units of this Natural Park can be seen, the Sierra de Las Villas.

Here, the gentlest slopes of the Las Villas region are occupied by olive groves. For this crop, the best soil conditions and topography are used. Only those places that have rocky outcrops or excessive slopes are free from their exploitation.

The human presence in these places is relegated to the only places where some kind of use of the environment is possible. The existence of some fertile soil in the lower areas, has allowed its dedication to agriculture or livestock, as can be seen in the remains of terraces and buildings that are still maintained.

This Tapadero viewpoint has great views of the entire canyon formed by the Guadalquivir river. It is also a good place to rest before finishing the port.

Covering part of the steep limestone slopes, you can see the alignments of old pine repopulations. The most inaccessible areas constitute the last redoubt where typical species of the original Mediterranean forest survive. Observe how these plants have taken the opportunity to anchor their roots in the cracks, the ledges of the rocks and, in general, those points where more sediments accumulate.

The vertical walls that occupy the foreground serve as a refuge and breeding place for various species of birds called rupicolous, among which the raptors are undoubtedly the most emblematic. With luck we will be able to admire the flight of vultures and Egyptian vultures that use the hot air currents that rise from the bottom of the valley.
