Hiking
It was built around 1150 by the Lords of Hohenlohe.
After a few changes of ownership, the castle was destroyed, burned out and never rebuilt in the Peasants' War in 1525.
Today the ruin is owned by the city of Karlstadt, which renovated the upper tower ("Dicker Turm") from 1978 to 1983. From the foot of this tower you have a good view of the Main Valley and Laudenbach.
