In the middle of the Upper Palatinate Forest between Falkenberg and Windischeschenbach lies the wild and romantic Waldnaab Valley, also known as the “Grand Canyon of the Upper Palatinate”. The Waldnaabtal nature reserve has a wow effect for me, the mighty rock formations only amaze you, the paths are well secured, some with wooden walkways and metal stairs. There is a very popular excursion restaurant "Blockhütte" with regional cuisine and beer garden. Since there is a hiking car park nearby, it is a good starting point for many hikes.
