Het Springendal includes extensive forests, springs with small ponds, streams and waterfalls, small hills, heathland and pastureland. Parts of Het Springendal are grazed by a flock of sheep to preserve the heath.
In the area of Het Springendal there are several burial mounds, probably from the Neolithic or Bronze Age, which are listed as historical monuments. -
Geologically, it is a valley formed by erosion on the edge of the ice.
