Cataloged as a church, it has a main altar presided over by a huge Baroque altarpiece with Solomonic columns whose exuberance clashes again with the sobriety and simplicity of the exterior of the temple. She is the patron saint of the city and the building has been declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument.

The works of the current Church of Remedios began in 1628, being directed by the teachers Gonzalo Yáñez and Fernado de Oviedo. To the first we owe the construction of the temple walls up to the height of the roof. Fernando de Oviedo was in charge of the interior architectural molding as well as the roofs.

The façade has an original layout, being preceded by a wall that closes the compass with a clear Mannerist character. The façade itself is quite simple, highlighting a loggia or portico, whose roof is supported by Tuscan columns, through three semicircular arches. The beautiful belfry, which is made entirely of stone, was built by the master stonemason Pedro de Arévalo. The plan of the Church is a Latin cross, with naves and side chapels, presenting a flat head.
