++ Topic: trees by the water:
Black alder (Alnus glutinosa)
The black alder occurs in Central Europe from the lowlands up to an altitude of about 1,200 m. It is a medium-sized tree up to 25 m tall and can reach an age of 120 years.
Willows (genus Salix)
The roots of willows found in wetlands are equipped with large cavities in which vital oxygen is transported. This adaptation can compensate for a lack of oxygen in the root area caused by flooding, waterlogging or soil compaction. In addition, flooding stimulates the root system to form new roots.
In addition, the willows have a pronounced ability for vegetative reproduction. A tree or shrub can be formed from the smallest branches.
grassland use
The extreme northern part of the Teverener Heide is characterized by agricultural use. The grassland areas are used for animal husbandry.
Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus)
The 12-14 cm long reed warbler inhabits the shore zone of standing or slow-flowing water and breeds in the reeds. He is only slightly shy, curious and lively and therefore easy to observe. It winters in tropical Africa.
