Hope Cross lies at the crossroads of ancient packhorse routes through the Peak District, ands it's surrounded by beautiful views down into the Valley. You'll find it's a lovely wide open track with spectacular views.

This medieval packhorse sign directs you to Glossop, Edale, Shefield (sic) and Hope. It's marked 1737 but this might be the date it was restored rather than the date it was originally built. A great 7-foot (2 m) landmark on the way from Sheffield to Edale.
