The Peak District doesn’t have the high mountains of the Lakes and Snowdonia, but it does have some hidden gems. Alport Castles is one of my favourites. The remains of a landslip, it’s a wonderfully quiet and strange place of rocky cliffs and towers. A great walk from Ladybower Reservoir.
