Polleur is a village on the Hoegne, south of the city of Verviers, in the province of Liège, Belgium. Administratively it belongs to the municipality of Theux
    Story:
Philippe de Commynes wrote in his memoirs that the army of Charles the Bold was forced to leave the country because the cold came, there was hunger and the wine froze so that it had to be cut with an ax. Duke Charles (called the "Bold"), fourth and last Duke of Burgundy, had burned Liège on November 3, 1468.
After the fire of Liège, Charles the Bold camped in Polleur to oversee the devastation of the Franchimont region.

During the Liège Revolution, the delegates of the five banes (fiefs) of the Margrave of Franchimont (Jalhay, Sart, Spa, Theux and Verviers) met from August 26, 1789 to January 23, 1791, first in Polleur, then in Theux and then in Spa: in 25 sessions. The Franchimontois proclaimed a declaration of human and civil rights that was more radical than that then adopted by France. This assembly is known as the 'Polleur Congress', which gave its name to the road from Theux to Polleur.

The Polleur bridge, probably of Roman origin, spans the Hoëgne. It is nicknamed "the Cuckoo Bridge", in reference to the Cuckoo Festival. This folkloric event organized to hunt the cuckoo to which various damages are attributed, takes place every year in July.

Old natural stone bridge built on two basket-handle arches. Its exact age cannot be determined, but the old Roman road from Trèves to Tongeren already ran through the Hoëgne here.
