Boasting the record of being the tallest medieval brick bell tower in Europe, it is 112.54 meters high. The astronomical clock, a true mechanical masterpiece, was created starting from 1582, the year of the Gregorian calendar reform, by Giovanni Francesco and Giovanni Battista Divizioli, while the decoration of the dial was entrusted to the painters Giovanni Battista Dordoni and Martire Pesenti.

It was completed in 1309, which once again amazes me what the builders were able to achieve at that time. Until 1959 the "Torrazzo" was the tallest church tower in Italy.
The "Torrazzo di Cremona" is the second highest bell tower in Italy and the third highest in brick construction worldwide (after St. Martin (Landshut) and Cathedral of Our Lady (Bruges))
