The oldest of the Zellertal communities is probably Harxheim (approx. 860 inhabitants), which was probably founded in the 6th century as part of the Franconian conquest. It lies in the valley directly at the mouth of the Ammelbach and the Pfrimm. The townscape is characterized by several stately homes from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as the Protestant church in the center of the town, where the "Three Horse Chestnuts" natural monument is also located.Behind Harxheim you can walk a very beautiful meadow path along the Ammelbach, which leads through a bird and nature reserve and other beautiful small villages (Violental). However, these no longer belong to the Zellertal but to the VG Göllheim in the Palatinate.
