Warteturm Albisheim

The absolute highlight of Albisheim. It's a bit steep uphill, but once you've made it, you'll find a great place: the waiting tower, a shelter and plenty of seating. When the weather is nice, there are also benches with tables in front of the tower. You have a beautiful view of the valley. There is also a serpentine hiking trail down into the village. Recommended!

The waiting tower and the beautifully maintained area around it are absolutely worth seeing!

The watchtower (also Old German “waiting tower”) on the Albisheimer Wingertsberg was originally part of a medieval observation and early warning system consisting of several watchtowers in the area, which ensured better protection and defense against enemies. Another example is the watch tower in Schillerhain in Kirchheim-Bolanden, which was only a few kilometers away and was built around the same time.
