Anyone who lives in or around Ghent will certainly know the Blaarmeersen: playgrounds, sports fields, beaches,... But there is also a swimming pond especially for small children: the Krekenplas.

It is more like a playing pond, with water up to 1m deep. As a result, it heats up quite quickly, as soon as there have been a few nice days, the water is not really cold anymore. Around it is a spacious beach and around it a kind of dike. Super safe, so your children can't just accidentally run away. In the middle of the pond is an island, also with sand, and there are 2 rafts that you can drag back and forth along a rope. There are benches, a shower and there are even special children's sanitary facilities.
