The Eichwege church was built in the 15th century from field stones and mighty square-shaped lawn iron stones with approx. 1.20 m thick masonry. After renovation work between 1693 and 1697, the former late Gothic building was given a baroque barrel ceiling and larger windows. The tower in the west was subsequently built with a square floor plan. The windows in the form of loopholes and the holy niche above the entrance portal point to a pre-Reformation construction. The octagonal half-timbered building above dates from 1791. What is striking is its crooked shape, which is both inclined to the side and twisted. The interior fittings were removed in the 20th century and replaced by what was then modern. The baroque pulpit from 1688 and a font made of cast bronze which was designed according to Schinkel's plans (formerly Alt-Nazareth Berlin) have been preserved. A second cast of this baptismal font can also be found in the Wittenberg Castle Church. The former baroque altar is now in the cemetery hall in Tschernitz. The organ comes from the organ building company Sauer in Frankfurt / Oder. Until 1938 the village and the parish were called Dubraucke. In the course of the compulsory Aryanization of Sorbian place names, the place and the parish were given the German name Eichwege. (Source: Evangelical parish Eichwege)
