Here was the former harbor district of Mannheim. Ships docked, the bag-carriers hired every morning to unload the ships. In the evening, the hard-earned money in the harbor pubs was drunk. The light trade was on the quay and wanted to have something from the cake before the gravel disappeared completely in a tavern. Apparently everything worked wonderfully. In the fifties it was no longer necessary to carry sack carriers and the girls gradually moved to Neckarstadt.

There was no life left in the Jungbusch and the decay indicated itself.

One would like to counteract this today with the Pop Academy, founding center, creative industry and refurbished old buildings. I hope that it works...
