The inhabited nucleus of Nobiallo is crossed by the ancient Roman road Regina which was one of the most important transit routes, as it allowed a rapid connection between the Po Valley and the Alps. In ancient times, the route went up to Breglia and down through the Carcente mountains to Rezzonico, before the route through Nobiallo was opened.
