Tough day, because weather was changing in seconds all day long. between rainy, sunny again, too cold, too sweaty windy…and forecast showed crazy rain and thunderstorm for the next 24 hours, our ferry tomorrow from Patras was canceled due to the bad weather conditions. So we stranded somewhere in the middle of the mountains and luckily found a kind of hotel too stay!

I am super surprised by the deep dark green forests of Peloponnes! It doesn’t feel like Greece- climbing winding roads trough dark forests, the air is cold and wet and you only here the birds singing. Very very beautiful and different piece of Greece.

We visited the Eleonas monastery up in the mountains, which is extremely beautiful and peaceful. Shortly after that we got caught by the rain and escaped in a small village where we found a pub whose owner looked like Mr. Bean 😂 we got a honey tea and warmed us there before pitching our tent in the stormy night.

We headed further south along the coast to Leonidio, which is THE climbing hot spot! Visiting a friend who rent a beautiful old stone house for some days of climbing. Our schedule is tight and we can just stay one night- but still! 💜

Finally back on the bikes!! After five weeks of working in Athens and not cycling at all, I could not wait to paddle again 😍 Feels like home to sit in the saddle again:) We are heading from Athens to Patras with a detour around Peloponnes.
