The main task of the Rhinluch Nature Conservation Station is herpetology (amphibian and reptile studies). With the support of numerous volunteers, species protection projects are being implemented for the fire-bellied toad (Bombina bombina), green lizard (Lacerta viridis) and the European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis). The central species register for amphibians and reptiles was created as a result of extensive mapping.
