After the Chernobyl reactor disaster, the Backensholzer began developing a sustainability strategy and managed their Backensholz farm according to strict ecological guidelines. Also worth mentioning are the recurring two-day Backensholzer Cheese Days at Backensholz farm under the motto "Enjoy country life", where the whole farm area is transformed into a place of experience for the heart, head and palate is always a real highlight.
