These rocky hills south of Natz are characterized by glacial erosion, dry grass areas on a thin layer of soil, shrub and sometimes tree cover, and chestnut deposits and therefore have an extremely large habitat diversity in relation to the area. Due to their immediate proximity to the town of Natz, they are also of considerable importance for local recreation. The hill areas are easily accessible via a short walk (cloister with a wayside shrine on the hill of the Schneiderhausbühel) and there is a barbecue area at the foot of the Mount of Olives.
