The monastery was founded between 1202 and 1210. Burned down by the Hussites in 1421.
Extensively rebuilt in 1756. In 1822 Karl Alexander von Thurn und Taxis acquired the monastery complex.
In the 19th century, nuns settled in the imposing monastery.
In 1945 it became state property. Since 1993 the community has been trying to save the monastery buildings, which are threatened with decay.

Guided tours are offered. There is also a small beer garden in the monastery area.
A visit to the monastery complex is well worth a visit.

Huge monastery which is currently being renovated with a lot of effort. Partially already released for viewing. Other parts are not accessible. Inside the monastery wall there is a small beer garden.
