    Sebastian's Chapel, Brig
The Sebastian Chapel was built in 1636/37 by one of the Prismeller Bodmers. The strong influence of Italian models cannot be denied.
The chapel is a tower-like central building with an octagonal layout and a recessed, polygonal choir. The pyramid roof is topped by a lantern. The portal porch is gabled with a ridge turret and is supported by two pairs of columns. On the front side there are niches with late Gothic statues of St. Leodegar and St. Jerome. The statues may have been taken from a previous building.
Inside there is an altarpiece painted by Lorenz Ritz in 1837 with a depiction of St. Sebastians and a city view of Brig.

It was built in 1636/37 by the Prismeller master builder N. Bodmer under strong influence from Italian models. Inside there is an altarpiece painted by Lorenz Justin Ritz in 1837 depicting St. Sebastian and a view of Brig.
On the east side and Sebastiansplatz, the baroque statues of St. Leodegar and St. Jerome stand in niches.
The Sebastian Chapel in Brig is owned by the Brig-Glis community, which also takes care of its maintenance.
St. Sebastian is honored on his name day (January 20th) with a solemn sung mass and the community traditionally invites the clergy, the choir and all those attending the mass to a bouillon, food and drink.
