Coming from the direction of Frankenheim, you only think you are on a gently sloping plateau. The Schnitzersberg - one of the three peaks - is nevertheless the highest mountain in the Thuringian part of the Rhön at 815.5m above sea level. The nearby and better known elbow is 2.5 m lower.
