    From the Ostseezeitung:
According to legend, the sacrificial stones were placed in the middle of the 19th century by an innkeeper who was trying to illustrate old legends for tourists. For example, in pre-Christian times, young men who saw the goddess Hertha bathing in the lake that was later named after her are said to have been executed on the sacrificial stone. And the legendary stone supposedly shows two footprints of different sizes made during a divine judgment by the same priestess who, contrary to her destiny, was having fun with a lover in the gorges around the royal seat.
