The historic mill "De Hoop" from 1778 is still in operation as a grain mill.
The original mill "De Hoop" stood on the boulevard and burnt down completely in 1969.

The current mill from 1778 stood until 1913 in Weesp (Noord-Holland). In 1913 the mill was sold and brought to Oldenzaal. There, the mill was in operation until 1928 and was then replaced by an electric.
Harderwijk Mill Foundation bought the mill in 1993 and brought the mill by low-loader to Harderwijk, where it has been in operation since 1998.

The mill has a small shop and can be visited during the summer months.
