The Jägerbrücke rewards you with breathtaking views of the old town of Arnsberg. And of course the wonderfully renatured Ruhr. It's much wider today than it was a few years ago. The resulting vegetation is not only beautiful to look at and offers a home to birds such as the heron and the kingfisher, but also fulfills another purpose: The open river design has improved the flood protection. This was only the beginning of the Nullerjahre the reason to start the renaturation measures. Today, Arnsberg is considered a showcase city, which shows very well how flood and nature conservation can be combined.
