Today, a youth hostel is housed in the old walls of the Neuerburg. The rooms are designed in style and here families and youth groups can make a real journey into the Middle Ages. Courtyard, chapel and ruin part of the castle are freely accessible and can be visited. From the keep you have a nice view into the valley.

The first documented mention of the hillside castle took place in 1132, when a Theodoric zu Neuerburg attested a deed of donation. The castle was already older at that time, since in 1270 the Count of Vianden described the castle and lordship of Neuerburg as an old fiefdom of his house, which he himself received from the Count of Luxembourg.
The castle now serves as a youth hostel.
