Built in 1873 by the architect Charles Thirion in the neoclassical style, the castle of Tribomont will first be the country house of a wealthy family from Verviers. It is located in the middle of an area planted with rare species (cedes, rhododendrons and redwoods - of which we find vestiges throughout the area).

It will be bought in the 1920s by Social Security to become the Maison des Mutualistes which will successively host holiday camps, a preventorium, a reception center for Russian and Spanish refugees and a drug addiction center.

An association for the protection of nature will then make its headquarters in 1989 to organize courses, green classes and "nature" training for educators and teachers.

This association will go bankrupt and the castle will then be sold in the 2000s to a Dutch owner who has been transforming and renovating the castle since then. It is not accessible to the public. The house adjoining the castle was bought by an individual to make it a dwelling house and a doctor's office.
