"Tobias von Dempter and Anna Bocks let me build" wrote in 1607 the future mayor of the city Hameln in Latin about his entrance. The parents of the builder had left in the 16th century for religious reasons, the Netherlands (Deventer). In the style of the Renaissance, the horizontal of the façade is clearly emphasized. This causes the layered arrangement of Bändern. Smooth, untreated strips alternate with those made of square blocks, which have small indentations in a uniform depression: the kerf.Above are the former storey storey and the attic floors, which were executed in half-timbered construction with rich hardware. These ornaments have their formal origin in blacksmithing and are therefore not reminiscent of the fittings of wooden chests or doors.
